My dear friend Maggie Ingram came over and snapped some shots of little Toxey man when he was about three weeks old. I really enjoyed visiting with her and getting these precious pics. Toxey was in a foul mood and the girls were acting like hoodlums. Maggie was so patient! I was amazed she was able to get any good shots though.

I figured I better jot all this down before I forget numbers and birth story. Gets harder to remember details when you have three to remember. Sweet thing is already 7 weeks old tomorrow so I am a little behind.
All three of my deliveries were pretty similar, however number three moves much quicker!! I went in for my appointment at 37 weeks and 5 days. Blood pressure was up and I was very swollen, as with Ella Katherine and Anne-Hartley. He told me to come to the hospital that night at 5:00p.m. where they would administer a cervadil. Night was pretty calm. Next morning they started pitocin and he broke my water around 7:30 at which I was 1.5 centimeters. By 9:30 I was hurting pretty good. I didn't want to ask for epidural because I assumed it had only dilated maybe another centimeter or two from my past experiences. The nurse was having a horrible time monitoring his heart rate. I was so happy that she told me we needed to go ahead and do epidural so I would quit moving around. This would help her monitor his heart rate better. I hate asking for epidural for some reason. Anyways the anesthesiologist came about five minutes later. She inserted my epidural no kidding four times. Not fun! However it was totally worth it as always. The nurse checked me immediately after and I was already 8cm. I couldn't believe that in two hours time I went from 1.5 to 8cm. The next two centimeters went a little slower. When I got to ten probably around 11:30a.m. Toxey wouldn't drop all the way. She inserted a catheter and within minutes i started feeling lots of pressure. Now the doctor was still at his office at the end of Lakeland and had to make it all the way to Woman's in lunch traffic. She said we would wait until he was in the building to do the first push. Well we heard his voice coming, so we did one push. Now at this point the room was not set up for birth. We all assumed I would have to do several pushes before that needed to take place. We did one push and he crowned. She told me to stop, and then she went to the cabinets to prepare a few things. In the meantime I just knew I felt Toxey coming out. I asked Matt and when he looked he turned completely white. Then I preceded to look, and Toxey's head was literally laying on the bed and noone was around. They start yelling for Dr. Wolfe to come in there. He casually walks in and when he looks at my face and then looked down he put a little pep in his step. He didn't even have time to get fully clothed. I think Matt was seconds away from grabbing the baby out himself. Dr. Wolfe then let me cut the cord myself. It was really neat.

Anne-Hartley Turns Two

I can't believe my baby girl turned two!! We are trying to start making some changes before little Toxey arrives. So far potty training has been a fail! Paci weaning -Fail! Big Girl bed has been our only success! The fails are mainly mommy's fault. I am having such a hard time letting her grow up! She is finally starting to form some sentences. Poor thing has a hard time talking because big sister is never quiet enough to give her a chance. Her favorite right now are Dora, Max and Ruby, her blankee(night night), and anything involving food!
We celebrated with just a small family cookout. It was fun! She was so proud when everyone sang to her! She wanted a Max and Ruby cake, and it was so yummy!

Getting Closer

I had a checkup today. I am now going every two weeks which is crazy to me! Toxey is already measuring 30 weeks! They said he is going to be a big boy! We are finally starting to get the nursery together, and I am quite pleased with it! We are doing alot of the stuff ourselves which is much cheaper and more fun!! We have really enjoyed it! I will post pictures when completed. Of course now we have two jealous little girls. Ella Katherine ask her daddy when he is painting her room at least once a day! Good luck with that one sweet girl!

Still Here

I actually have a night off from the kids and I have been up since 3:00 a.m. Why? Do mothers ever sleep normal again?? I have done everything I can do without waking up Matt, so I figured this was as good of a time as any to update the blog.

Remember how I said since I was staying at home now, I would keep the blog updated. HA! Little did I know how little of time I would have. We are finally starting to settle into our new lifestyle though. Hopefully when we get our routine down a little better I will be more persistent.

We are heading to Orange Beach around lunch time today and I am thrilled!! Not as much as the girls though. It is a much needed change of scenery. Daddy will only be able to join us for a couple of days, but I guess its better than nothing. I can't wait to hang out with my family and get all the little cousins together. Pray for us though, four three and unders and a grouchy pregnant lady!

Speaking of pregnant, I am 22 weeks now and moving right along. I am pretty sure I look like I am 35 weeks. It amazes me how much quicker you pop out with each pregnancy. Carrying a boy has proven to be so much different. I guess I haven't shared that news on here either. It is a boy, Mark "Toxey" Vitart. Mark is my dad's name. I have so much respect and admiration for my dad. He is the kindest, most humble, smartest man I have ever known! I am proud to let my son carry on his name. Toxey is what he will be called, is Matt's middle name. It was his great grandfather's name. I have always loved it, and it is so unique. I have definitely gotten some crazy reactions when I tell people the name, but I fully expected that. We are beginning preparations for little man's arrival. I have ordered all the nursery stuff. I guess eventually we will get around to painting. It is overwhelming having a different gender on your third. I didn't have a stitch of blue in this house. I am trying to buy things up at seasonal clearances and get all the hand me down stuff I can (hint hint.) Hart baby moved to a big girl bed this past week. It was the most unbelievably smooth transition! She is SO proud of herself. Next we will move on to paci weaning and potty training. Surely I can achieve those before July!!

Lots of Changes

We have had many changes around the Vitart household. One of which will hopefully lead to me having the time to keep this blog up better. Thanksgiving week was my last week of working outside the home. I am now a full time stay at home mom and am loving it. It is definitely a big adjustment from what I was used, but we are working on getting our routine down. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to raise my girls.

In other news, we are expecting baby number three! It will arrive sometime in July. We are thrilled! Things should definitely get interesting around here. I will go to the doctor on Friday to get a due date, etc.. Ella Katherine is super excited. She claims we are having two babies and they will be named Santa and Relf.

Ella Katherine turned three yesterday. She is such a little comedian! Her favorite things these days are muscials, Dora, cooking, dressup, her "night night", and artwork.

Anne-Hartley or "Hart Baby" will be 20 months tomorrow. She is so full of life. The child loves to eat!! Her favorite things are doing everything her sissy does, getting into all the cabinets, her paci and blankie, and being Ms. Independent.

Matt and I will celebrate four years of wedded bliss (and chaos:)) tomorrow. We have had a wonderful four years full of stress, but many blessings. We have moved, started and completed law school, had two babies with another on the way, joined the Army, completed and passed the bar, moved again, became a stay at home mom, and the list goes on and on. I love you and am so happy that God chose you for me to make this journey with!

We're Back

Hopefully now that our lives are finally starting to settle down a bit, I can keep this thing updated. The Vitarts have had LOTS of changes in the last couple of months. God has continued to give undeserved blessings, and we are so grateful for it all!

Matt completed and most importantly PASSED the Bar! He began work about a month ago. He is loving it! Definitely a big change from being a student. We are so grateful that he got such a great job with wonderful people.

We also bought a house out in Madison. As some of you know we have been stuffed like sardines into a two bedroom/one bath town house. It was perfect for Matt and I, but we continued to grow unplanned. We love our new neighborhood and we love living out here.

Ella Katherine has started staying with Matt's mom during the day. This only adds to her divaness(not a word I realize). Of course thats what grandparents are for, right? She is two going on twenty. I am amazed at the things that come out of her mouth. She tells us all the time that Hart is a baby and she is a teenager. We finally moved up to a "big girl bed." If you come over it will be the first thing she shows you. She is very proud.

Hart is all over the place and eating us out of house and home. Our quiet little baby that you would forget was even in the room is no longer. She brings us so much joy though. She is definitely going to be the class clown. She is really starting to learn alot of words.

Wow it has been AWHILE!!! Our lives, the last several months, have been a little on the crazy side!!

Matt finally graduated from law school in May. We are so proud of him!! That same day, he commissioned into the Army as a Second Lieutenant. He is currently preparing for the Bar exam that will be held at the end of July. Please add this to your prayer list. He will start work the second week of August!

Ella Katherine is doing great! She is 2 going on 20. Everyday before leaving the house, she tells us she needs her purse, iPhone and make ups. She is sassy and prissy as can be. She keeps us rolling. I love that little girl! However, we are definitely in the "terrible twos." Its a constant battle.

Our sweet Hart baby turned one on April 16th. She brings us SO much joy. She is everywhere right now, but still not walking. I am in absolutely no hurry though!! The child loves to eat too. She is almost wearing the same size as her sister already!!

We are still trying to sell our town home. I know it will happen when the time is right. We are completely out of room here, but at least we have a roof over our heads. I am just tired of trying to keep this place showable. You keep it spotless for a week, and the one day you let it go, someone drops by to look.

If I caught you up on everything that happened since I last posted, it would take me days. This is just a small glimpse.

Sick Little Girl

I am doing this post from Blair Batson Children's Hospital. This has been our residence since Wednesday afternoon. Hart started coughing and running fever Saturday. Sunday morning we packed up and left Collinsville to head to the pediatrician's office in Jackson. They discovered and ear infection and we were sent home with antibiotics. Mother met Matt on Monday night and took both girls back to Collinsville. Hart never seemed to improve and continued running fever. Mom let me know that she was very sick on Wednesday morning and to call the pediatrician. I immediately drove towards Collinsville and met up with mom in Hickory and grabbed Hart to bring her in. She was pitiful and I knew immediately it was not good. We went straight to the doctors and when we arrived she still had fever and was really struggling breathing. I could see the concern on the doctor's face. They gave her a breathing treatment and then hooked her up to the oxygen monitor. Her oxygen level was at 84 and her bpm was at 202.They immediately hooked her up to an oxygen machine. They also tested her for RSV and it came back positive. To say I was an emotional wreck at this point is an understatement. The doctor then came back in and told me we were definitely headed to the hospital, then she said now I am justmcontemplating whether she should go by ambulance. I held it together, but inside I was freaking out! So they pulled up, sirens and all, and put her little carseat on the stretcher. They wheeled us through the full waiting room and out into the ambulance. When we arrived they did xrays, bloodwork, iv, etc... The xray showed pneumonia. On top of all this she has a double ear infection. It has been a rough couple of days, but today things have finally turned around. She is smiling and resting well. They just removed the oxygen and drip. she is doing ok without oxygen. It is still a little lower than normal, so we end up back on it. We will for sure be here again tonight and they will reevaluate the situation tomorrow. Please keep us in your prayers.

We're Back!

It has been quite a while. I am much busier with two than I ever imagined! Alot has happened since my last post. We have had a rough winter with both girls getting sick a good bit. That is one thing that has kept us so busy.I will try to catch our one or two readers up on our lives.

We just celebrated three wonderful years of marriage. Matt had a final the next morning so he spent it in the library and me with the two girls. Maybe next year we can take a little trip.

Matt has gotten a job secured after graduation in May. We will get to stay in Jackson and he will be working for an incredible firm. We could not feel more blessed. He just finshed his 2nd to last semester.

Ella Katherine has turned two and had a circus themed low key party. She had a blast. She is learning things left and right, and she amazes me everyday. She can learn the words to any song, (Should've Put a Ring on It and Apple Bottom Jeans are among her favorite unfortunately). She has already knocked her front tooth loose and we are in the process of saving it. She is constantly on the move and is full of herself!

Hart was recently Christened at our new church that we are in the process of joining. We just love it. She is getting quite active. She just turned eight months. I think she is going to be a slow developer like EK was. She has no interest in crawling. She is seriously the best baby I have ever been aroung. We are so fortunate.

The McPhail's just welcomed another baby. Sweet little Logan was born on December
17th. My sis in law, Jenny, is doing great. I can't believe my brother is a Dad. There are four generations of McPhail men now. We will be going to Birmingham tomorrow to meet him. I can't wait to get my hands on that little cutie!

Oh and we also are in the process of selling our townhome. Keep it in your prayers please! I am posting a few pics of the girls off my mom's camera. I am in Collinsville right now and these are the only pics I have with me. More to come later.

So today Matt and I were cleaning while Ella Katherine was supposedly napping. We always have the video monitor in the room with us, but for some reason today we did not. I heard a thud upstairs and went to check it out. When I approached the stairs I heard things hitting EK's door. That little squirt had figured out how to climb out of her crib. It's amazing she did not hurt herself. When I opened the door, this picture is what I saw. She must have been out of the crib for awhile without us knowing. She destroyed her room.

We went over to Ho Ho and Pat's tonight to visit and eat some delicious meatloaf. Grayson and Ella Katherine had a blast playing with each other. Grayson refers to EK as "La" and EK calls Grayson, "Jasa". So cute!! I love that they have so much fun together. Sorry Grayson about the Elmo book that Ella Katherine destroyed tonight. Excuse EK's boy pajamas. I didn't take any with me.

These are both girls right around three months. Anne-Hartley is one week shy of three months. I don't think they look as much alike anymore. Its crazy how much difference a few weeks can make. Anne-Hartley is in the top picture and Ella Katherine is in the bottom.

Two Month Checkup

We had Anne-Hartley's two month check up last week. She weighed 11.6lbs.(75th percentile), 24 in. (90th percentile), and head circumference was 38cm. (25th percentile.) She is a good bit bigger than Ella Katherine was at this point. EK usually stayed around the 50th percentile in every category. She did great with her shots. She cried for about two seconds and was fine. She never got fussy and had no reactions. Such a blessing. The doctor also said that she has the interaction of a four month already.

She is starting to come alive. She smiles constantly and starting to giggle and coo a little. She is the sweetest baby. She has been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks now. She already loves her big sister. Ella Katherine will pop her or jab her passy in her face among many other things, and she will just smile at her. It's so precious. Have I mentioned how much I love this girl?

We are in trouble. I think we have a little daredevil on our hands. We were in Northpark on Saturday and we kept passing the bungee jump contraption. Everytime we did she would just starting yelling with excitement. We stopped to let her watch never even imagining that she was big enough to do it. The worker came over and asked if she wanted to try. He said the weight limit was twenty pounds. We passed by a whopping four pounds and she loved it. You can't tell from the pictures, but she was really high up! She was quite the entertainer. Everyone was stopping to watch her. They probably though we were terrible parents for letting an 18 month on that thing.

We were at Pappy and Nona's this weekend with all four kids. They had a blast. They danced alot over the weekend. I wish I could have caught them the first time they danced all weekend. They had a huge crowd and were not holding anything back. They were breaking it down. By the time I got the camera out they were over it, so this doesn't actually do their moves any justice.

Penne ala Vodka

Ingredients Needed:

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 shallots, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup vodka
1 cup chicken stock
1 28 or 32 oz can crushed tomatoes
salt and pepper
16 ounces pasta, doesn't have to be penne, any sort of shaped pasta will do.
1/2 cup heavy cream
15-20 leaves fresh basil, chopped

To Make:

Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the oil and butter to pan, and melt butter. Add garlic and shallots, and saute for 3-5 minutes. Add vodka to the pan, and reduce by half, about 2-3 minutes. Add the chicken stock and tomatoes. Bring sauce up to bubbling, then reduce heat to simmer. While the sauce is simmering, cook pasta according to package directions in salted water, then drain, and set aside. Stir the cream into the sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Toss the hot pasta with sauce and stir in basil leaves. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

We took Ella Katherine and Anne-Hartley to the zoo on Sunday. It was perfect weather and EK had a blast. She was fascinated with the parrots and the monkeys. Anne-Hartley was a sweet baby and just hung out and slept in the stroller.

This was on the way home from the zoo. She was completely worn out. She kept going in and out of sleep. This child loves her bed, sassy, blanket, milk, and a good nap. Notice when we would mention nap she would stop fussing for a couple of seconds and get happy and start smiling. Maybe its just funny if you were there, but I thought I would post anyways.

Our precious little Anne-Hartley is almost four weeks old. I can't believe how quickly she is growing. She is a little piglet so I guess she is going to be a chunk like her sister.She is such a sweet baby, but is spoiled rotten already. This child only sleeps well if she is in the bed beside you (not a good sign for mommy and daddy.) She also has to have her sassy in her mouth 24/7. She has really adjusted well to EK jabbing her sassy in her mouth and throwing objects over the crib to her constantly.

We had a wonderful photo session with Jeanelle Caraway Monday morning. She spent about three hours with us and is the most patient person. Ella Katherine was such a little diva that day. I highly recommend Jeanelle. Below is a sneak peak she sent me. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. She has also started a baby package that is currently $250.00 and that pays for your sitting fees at four sessions throughout the first year(1 week old, 4 months, 8 months and 12 months.) You also receive a 5x7 from each session. When I receive the proofs I will send everyone a link and password so you can check them all out.

I thought I would give an update on little EK. We have finally started walking everywhere and can pretty much repeat any word you tell her. Having this new baby come along has really gotten her motivated.

Some of our favorite things are:

-Letting mommy know where the baby is at all times as if mommy doesn't already know.
-Asking for a bottle every time the baby gets one to see if she can get lucky.
-Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny,Elmo and Little Einsteins
-Anything mommy is eating (She knows its the unhealthy but delicious if mommy is eating it)
-Purse and bags
-Bath time and drinking the nasty bath water
-Telling us she "poo poo" and then letting us know how badly it stinks.
-Her DaDa better known as "Maaaaat" to her.
-Entertaining everyone
-Anne-Hartley's carseat, I would say she spends about two hours a day getting in and back out of it and just lounging in it.
-Any kitchen items and pretending to cook. Everyone has to try what she makes by taking a "bi"
-Letting you know animal sounds, however every animal "moooos" right now.
-Her sassy and blankie, we can not sleep without them.
-She is obsessed with shoes and clothes and organizing them in her room.
-Tractors (We have a little redneck tomboy). She loves them though thanks to her cousin Grayson.

Anne-Hartley arrived Thursday, April 16th, at 3:29p.m. I just knew I was having a boy so I was quite surprised upon her arrival. She gave her mommy a fairly easy delivery. She weighed 6lbs. 14 ozs. and was 20 inches long. She is such a precious baby. Ella Katherine is not quite sure what to think about her but has decided she needs to do as much entertaining as possible when company is around to get the attention back on her. I have a few pics to post, but more to come later.

I had my 37 week appointment today. My blood pressure was quite high so the doctor is inducing. We will check in tomorrow night and should have the baby on Thursday. I can't wait to find out what Baby #2 is. We have had so much fun letting it be a surprise. Keep us in your prayers, especially Ella Katherine. Her little life is about to change.

Hudson's in Ridgeland has three rounders of Strasburg clothing right now. I bought about $400 worth of dresses for eighty dollars. They are marked down twice from the original price and 60% off of that. Just thought I would let everyone know. It is winter and Christmas clothing for boys and girls.

28 Week Check Up

I had my 28 week check up today and everything went great. I had originally failed my one hour sugar test, so I had my three hour sugar test today. Not a fun event. Fasting while you are pregnant and then chugging a glass of pure sugar does not sit well. Fortunately I passed with flying colors though. I still have to remain on a diabetic diet, but no meds!! My blood pressure is still good. I am measuring 28 weeks although I feel like I am 37! I will now start going to the doctor every two weeks. I can't believe how quickly it is getting here. Oh and the baby's heart rate was 141 this time (could we have a little man on our hands??) If so, I sure hope he likes pink.

Prayer Request- My sister has shingles. Grayson has had to go stay with my parents because it is possible for him to get it as well. Finley could possibly get chicken pox. Everyone pray for a speedy recovery for Haley and that Grayson and Finley don't get exposed.

23 Week Check Up

I went to the doctor today for a checkup.
Everything looked great. My blood pressure is still down which is a huge blessing. I struggled with high bp with EK and ended having to be induced at 37 weeks because of it. It was high at the beginning of this pregnancy but has been down the last couple of visits. Today it was 130/70.
The baby's heart rate was 145 (boy or girl??)

My sister on the otherhand needs everyones prayers. She is at 33 weeks and has already dialated a cm internally and 3 cm externally. She is 50% effaced. She has been on bedrest for about two weeks now. Hopefully she can cook Finley several more weeks.

Our dear friends and neighbors will be welcoming their first baby boy into the world sometime tomorrow. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Boston Andrew Payne. Lila Lee is being induced tonight. We can't wait to meet him. Everyone keep Andrew, Lila and sweet baby Boston in your prayers. Lila we hope you have an easy labor and that little Boston is healthy. We went to Natchez this weekend for my Aunt Verna Mae's 100th birthday. We had such a blast and EK was full of herself. While exploring the church that the party was at we caught the footage below and its too funny not to share.
I realize that it is absolutely disgusting the we let her lick the glass door, but it was too hilarious to stop her. I can't wait to see what she picks up from doing that.

Everything is going great at the Vitart household. Ella Katherine is finally getting mobile. I guess this is a good thing. We spend every second watching her every move. She love to terrorize Gizmo. The poor dog turned 13 yesterday and she makes his life miserable. He can't see and she grabs his feet and screams at him. He flips out and runs away when he hears her coming. She is developing quite the personality which is really fun to watch.
Matt found out he will be clerking for the summer which is truly a blessing. It will be while I am out on maternity leave, and as you can imagine I haven't had much time to build up days since my last maternity leave. This will really help. He will do that for six weeks and then off with the army for another four. It will be interesting to see how I make it with a 16 month old and newborn by myself. Matt is wrapping up his third semester (three more to go!!) in next several weeks. Ella Katherine and I will be getting out of the way.
Baby #2 is doing great so far. Although we are receiving much opposition from others, Matt and I have decided not to find out the gender of our baby. We want it to be a surprise. I was able to listen to the heartbeat Friday and everything sounded good. My blood pressure is still up, but they haven't started meds yet. My official due date is May 6th. We can't wait to meet it.

Matt's cousin Cathryn got married last weekend. The wedding and reception were beautiful and so much fun. Ella Katherine was dressed appropriately for the wedding, but after a couple of hours she was tired of it. That is why she looks like a little redneck in the picture. She stayed on the dance floor all night long and loved it. This child loves to dance. It is hilarious! This is one of the only pictures I have. Its hard to take them when you are taking care of a child.

Life has been super busy lately. I am finally having time to sit down and do a new post thanks to a relaxing weekend in Collinsville. Ella Katherine is down for her morning nap, so I have snuck off to the computer. Law school and the Army have kept Matt super busy and thanks to the wonderful economy my job has been quite stressful lately. Working at a bank during times like this is NOT fun! If I get asked one more question about FDIC I might go crazy! Oh fun story about work yesterday. We actually had a customer whoop it out and urinate in our lobby. I am not talking about a small little puddle, he must have been holding it for hours! Downtown Jackson can be quite the interesting place to work.

Ella Katherine has become quite the active baby lately. The last two weeks she has been a little under the weather with ear infections and sore throat, but she is started to bounce back. We are still not crawling, but I don't think its too far away. I think she doesn't see the need, since we do EVERYTHING for her.

In case you haven't heard yet(if anybody stills reads this thing), Ella Katherine is going to be a big sister. We are about ten weeks along. My second appt is next Thursday. We will set a due date in stone then, however it is around May 4th, as of now. Two in diapers, living in a two bedroom town home and one income should be quite exciting. Nineteen more months until Matt is done. I have the countdown going!
