Yard Sale
Yard sales are great places to people-watch because they come to you. All you have to do is sit in your yard, or in our case the garage, and the most eclectic, colorful, and interesting species of people will come out of the woodwork for your viewing pleasure. It's similar too baiting deer or like going bird-watching, but rolling around in elmers glue and bird seeds before you go.
This weekend we opened our garage doors to the general public with an invitation to rummage through some of our discarded clutter. Surprisingly, Morgan's left-over wardrobe from her days as a staunch competitor in the International Science Fair sold very well. Other hot items included: "stripper shoes" sold to an 11 year old girl, a 25 year old microwave with cheese splatter included, and a really cool key-chain laser pointer.
We were blessed with quintessential yard selling weather and stayed busy continuously from 7am-Noon. All in all, we heard some very sad stories people used to bargain us out of 50 cents, met some of the interesting Saltillo locals, and made a good hunk of change.
