Two Week Check up
Ella Katherine had her first pediatrician appointment today. It went great! She weighed 7lbs. 2 oz. and was 20 inches long. A week ago she weighed 6lbs 5 oz. My little girl can eat! She already has her first cold and it is pitiful to see her not able to breath well. There isn't much you can do for them at this age. The doctor said she looked very healthy!
I had another appointment yesterday and my blood pressure is finally starting to go down. I have to go back a couple times just to keep it in check.

Two Day Check Up
Ella Katherine had her two day check up yesterday. Her weight and temperature were great. She is jaundiced however. We were sent home with a bili blanket. We knew she had a great tan considering she came from Matt and me. I figured it was to good to be true. She will stay on the blanket until Thursday when we go back for the check up. She looks like a little glow worm. The blanket has a fiber optic light that is attached to her back by a vest. The vest is attached to machine. We can't take her off of it so she has to stay in one place. I am putting up some pictures of her glowing in the dark.
One Eventful Year
Somehow between giving birth and bringing home a new baby, I forgot to mention our one year anniversary. Sunday, December 16th was our one year anniversary. I can't believe how quickly it has flown by and that we celebrated it by bringing home the greatest gift we will ever receive. I have been so blessed to have Matt in my life. He is such a great husband and now a great father.

WE HAVE A BABY!!
Ella Katherine is here. She arrived a little under 24 hours after labor was induced and it was a great delivery. She was born on December 14th at 3:40p.m. She weighed 6lbs 13 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. She is so precious!! I have never been so in love with anything in my life. We came home today around lunch time and we are all doing great! Thanks for the prayers!

Ella Katherine will be here tomorrow!!
We went in for the thirty seven week check up yesterday and we received quite the surprise. We are going to induce labor tonight and should have a baby on Friday!!! My blood pressure was quite high and I had begin to progress a little. I am only one centimeter dilated and seventy-five percent effaced. We have to be at the hospital at 5:30p.m. tonight. Please keep us in your prayers. I can't wait to meet our little girl!! I will try to get Matt to put some pictures on here sometime tomorrow.

Grayson
Poor little Grayson is still having health problems. Everyone please keep Haley, Patrick and Grayson in your prayers. He is still projectile vomiting most of his feedings and is still on the feeding tube. They are going back to the doctor tomorrow to meet with the GI doctor. Hopefully they will figure out what is going on with the little fellow soon. He is so tough and the sweetest little guy ever!

Our nephew, Grayson Rhodes Davis, entered this world in a rush of excitement at 8:21pm tonight, September 20, 2007. The newest addition to the family is handsome, healthy, weighs 6lbs. 14oz., and measures 19.5 inches. He and his mommy are doing terrific as they recover from an emergency C-section. Please keep them in your prayers.
Hopefully we will have better pictures after tomorrow. We won't get to hold him until tomorrow or the next day. Grayson is in NICU. We only got to see him as he passed through the hall. I can't wait to hold him!
Grayson is on the Way!!!!!!!!!!!
Matt and I are about to be an aunt and uncle!! Haley's in labor as we speak!! She is five cm and is getting her epidural right now. She is being such a trooper. Thank goodness she is making it look easy. I think all twenty of the family members are about to drive the hospital staff crazy! I will post pictures as soon as Grayson arrives. He is premature so everyone be praying for him and Haley!

We Have a Name!
Despite the results of the poll, we have decided on baby Vitart's name.
Ella Katherine it is!
It is such a relief to have this decided. I think we are going to call her Ella Katherine, but I am sure it will eventually turn into Ella Kate. Thanks for all your votes and comments. It was such a tough decision.

Naming a child is Stressful!
So we have posted the poll above because Matt and I can't quite come to an agreement on Ella's middle name. Hopefully all two of you who look at our blog can help us out.
The name Ella comes from my grandmother who we lost last summer. Her name was Eloise and she was one of the most amazing women I know. She knew I was going to name my little girl after her one day so when she began her battle with cancer she decided to make each grandchild a baby afghan for her future great grandchildren. Everyone's was neutral colors except she made mine pink for Ella.

We are officially Jacksonians and Mo is coming home!
We have officially moved to Jackson now. Tonight will be our first night in our new home. Matt is on his way home with the most important of our belongings, Gizmo, as we speak. He was released this afternoon since we decided to forgo the surgery to remove the cancer. It would have been a really tough recovery on him and a very high risk surgery. He is still blown up like a baloon but we will love him even more now! We don't know how much longer we have him so if you thought he was spoiled before you just wait until I get him back!! I started work yesterday and it is going great. Everyone is really sweet, however I do really miss my coworkers from Tupelo desperately! Please continue to keep Gizmo in your prayers and us as we try to settle in Jackson.
Thanks to my wonderful sister for letting me stay the past couple of days so I wouldn't be so sad without my husband and Gizmo. I have the greatest family!
I will post pictures of our little fat man later tonight after he returns home.

Gizmo Update
Little Gizmo is still in ICU at MSU vet school. We are still here staying so we can be close. The Dallas family has been kind enough to let us stay in their apartment. So we have been reminiscing about the old college days. The vet school calls me twice a day to give us updates. His vitals, temp, and circulation is still good. He is still three times his size. The air has not gone down at all. He will be transferred from ICU to the surgeons tomorrow. They will decide if he needs surgery tomorrow. They said he is eating good and sleeping. I am so ready to get him back! Please continue to pray for him!

Pray for Gizmo!
Please keep little Gizmo in your prayers. I boarded him in Tupelo yesterday while Matt and I were going to close on our home in Jackson. I decided to have his teeth cleaned while he was there. They called around five p.m. and said we needed to get him to MSU vet school immediately his trachea was leaking air. We paid one of the tech's to drive him there and meet us to cut two hours out of his wait time. When we saw him he has so much air leaking that he is about three times his normal size. He is pitiful. However he is stable right now and his vitals are good. I should be getting a phone call any minute now from the vet. We will know if he needs surgery or if there is a chance it could repair on its own. They also found two masses on his lungs.
I am still in town. Matt and some of our precious friends are moving us right now to Jackson. Keep us in your prayers please!!

Yard Sale
Yard sales are great places to people-watch because they come to you. All you have to do is sit in your yard, or in our case the garage, and the most eclectic, colorful, and interesting species of people will come out of the woodwork for your viewing pleasure. It's similar too baiting deer or like going bird-watching, but rolling around in elmers glue and bird seeds before you go.
This weekend we opened our garage doors to the general public with an invitation to rummage through some of our discarded clutter. Surprisingly, Morgan's left-over wardrobe from her days as a staunch competitor in the International Science Fair sold very well. Other hot items included: "stripper shoes" sold to an 11 year old girl, a 25 year old microwave with cheese splatter included, and a really cool key-chain laser pointer.
We were blessed with quintessential yard selling weather and stayed busy continuously from 7am-Noon. All in all, we heard some very sad stories people used to bargain us out of 50 cents, met some of the interesting Saltillo locals, and made a good hunk of change.

We're going to Jackson!
Our little family is making our first move. We are headed to Jackson next weekend. Matt will be attending law school at MC and I am getting transferred with my company. We are excited what the future has in store, but sad to be leaving our jobs and friends here in Tupelo! We close on our townhome on Friday. Our first little home purchase. Gizmo will finally have a fenced in back yard to run around in! He will love it!
We started packing our things last night and are moving at a very slow pace. I HATE PACKING and MOVING!!
Keep us in your prayers during the many changes and challenges ahead of us!

My Genius Gift
Ladies if you need something to keep your husband busy and entertained for hours I highly suggest purchasing the Nintendo Wii. I got the genious idea to purchase this little puppy during Easter. It has kept Matt busy ever since. However it does bring quite the embarrasment when company is over and he stands for hours in front of the televison doing golf swings and tennis swings and thinking he is Tiger Woods. Word of warning though, the game that comes with the system is not enough to keep them entertained for long. Next they will be wanting to purchase $50.00 games and renting $8.00. In other words its not a cheap gift. I have included some wonderful photos of Matt in action. Notice he even bust out his golfing glove while playing golf. I am not kidding.

Sonogram
We had our second doctor's appointment today! It was indescribable! We got to see the baby for the first time and hear its heartbeat! It was so amazing! Everything was perfect the doctor said. The baby is 3.6 cm long and by looking at the sonogram quite the chunky little thing. We are due for sure on January 1st. The baby was pretty calm. We saw it jump and wave its hands a couple of times. It looks like it got its mothers long arms! I couldn't believe how big they were! On the last one we zoomed in and were amazed at what we saw! I think Matt is a little angry!

First Doctor's Appointment
Matt and I had our first Doctor's appointment today! Our doctor is sooo nice. I couldn't be happier with our choice. We didn't find out much today except that I am pregnant and that our due date as of now is January 1, 2008. We are so excited!! I haven't been too sick yet. I did throw up all night last night but it is not constant like Haley's (thank goodness). I am only having migraines. Our next appointment is set for June 12th. We will be able to get a sonogram and hear the heartbeat at that appointment. Keep us and especially baby Vitart in your prayers!
